We’re proud to mark our fourth year partnering with Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group to power America’s Greenest Companies 2026 ranking.
This year’s ranking, underpinned by GIST Impact’s data, highlights 450 companies that have made the most impressive efforts to minimise their negative impact on the environment.
To be eligible, companies had to meet minimum sustainability standards set by the European Union – widely regarded as among the world’s most rigorous. Due to inconsistencies in corporate reporting periods for ESG reports, only companies publishing recent sustainability data between January 1, 2024 and July 31, 2025 were considered in the study.
The companies were then evaluated and scored on more than 25 parameters based on the following 4 categories:
- Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions
- Water Usage
- Waste Generation
- Sustainability Data Disclosure and Commitments
The result is a credible, comprehensive, and data-driven global assessments of corporate sustainability to date.
