National Australia Bank is one of Australia’s largest financial institutions, serving around 10 million customers. As a market leader in business and agribusiness lending, it recently published its 2025 Annual Report. The report sets out the Group’s strategy, performance, and sustainability progress. And it also includes a notable reference to GIST Impact and our sustainability data.
In the report’s Data and Insights section, NAB describes a trial developed with GIST Impact to support the Group in understanding their nature-related impacts and dependencies at the portfolio level – with a particular focus on companies in the agriculture sector. Aligned with TNFD guidance, GIST Impact and NAB worked together to test how data generates customer insights and helps customers adopt sustainable practices.
Additionally, for GIST Impact, this collaboration reflects the growing demand among major financial institutions for rigorous, portfolio-level nature data. Agriculture is one of the sectors most exposed to, and most responsible for nature-related risk. And understanding those dynamics at scale is precisely the challenge our data is built to address.
As institutions like NAB move from awareness to action on nature, the need for trusted, decision-ready data has never been greater.
