A pocket guide to climate and nature risk

We’re pleased to share that GIST Impact’s nature and biodiversity suite has been included in the 5th edition of the Biodiversity Measurement Approaches Guide, published jointly by the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation and the EU Business & Biodiversity Platform.

First launched in 2020, the Guide is a go-to resource for financial institutions navigating the fast-evolving landscape of biodiversity assessment. This latest edition features new tools, updated methodologies, practical case studies, and expanded guidance on marine environments — all designed to help investors and lenders integrate nature into financial decision-making.

GIST Impact’s suite appears on pages 55–72, covering three core tools:

  • Global Biodiversity Footprint
  • Sensitive Location Assessment
  • DIRO (Dependencies, Impacts, Risks, and Opportunities) Analysis.

Together, these tools give financial institutions comprehensive, actionable intelligence across impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities – from individual assets to global portfolios. All tools are aligned with TNFD, CSRD, SBTN, and other major nature frameworks.

As regulatory expectations and stakeholder demands around nature continue to grow, being recognised in a resource of this calibre reflects our commitment to providing financial institutions with the rigorous, decision-relevant biodiversity intelligence they need to act.
